Attendees, called Pilgrims, enjoy three days full of singing, learning, laughing, praying, worshiping, and participating in small groups. Talks are given by common people living the real Christian life, who share their stories of how God's love has made a difference in their lives. Pilgrims share daily in Holy Communion, devotional meditations, and interactive worship experiences. Anonymous acts of agape love surround each person throughout the weekend. The Walk to Emmaus is an international, non-denominational movement dedicated to offering God's grace and agape love to all believers. Emmaus-style movements can be found within many denominations: including Lutheran, Catholic, Anglican, Presbyterian, and others. The Walk to Emmaus does not end after the 72 hour retreat. Graduates of the "Walk" are encouraged to join the larger Emmaus community and become servant-leaders in their own local churches. Within the Emmaus community, small groups, called Share Groups, are available for support and accountability. And graduates can become the next set of sponsors and servants for future retreats. If you have unanswered questions about your faith, if you want to strengthen your spiritual life, if you want to dedicate your everyday life to God, then the Walk to Emmaus is for you! |
